Windsor has so many fun things to see and do if you take a deep look. Here are 10 of my favourite ways to enjoy the city.

Windsor Sculpture Park

Between the Ambassador Bridge (Huron Church Road) and The Art Gallery of Windsor (Church Street) on Riverside Drive

Windsor’s riverfront is one of the major tourist and local attractions, which is why the city has turned it into a museum without walls. Check out the unique pieces while gazing at the Detroit skyline at any time of day or night.

Plant Joy Donuts

5622 Wyandotte St. E.

Looking to satisfy your sweet tooth? The donuts found at this cafe in Riverside are completely vegan and completely delicious. Check out the wide array of flavours including Strawberries and Cream and Pina Colada next time you’re in the area.

Located between Gladstone and Argyle on Wyandotte

There is so much to do in Walkerville that an entire list could be made around it. You can check out delicious food options such as Nola’s and Twisted Apron, have coffee at Anchor Coffee House, or check out the latest fashions at ENVY or WKND.

Capitol Theatre

121 University Ave W

The Capitol Theatre is not only home to Windsor adaption of some of your favourite plays and musicals. It is also the home of WIFF, the Windsor International Film Festival, where you can see many indie and locally made films in a beautiful theatre built in the 1920s.

Bad Axe Throwing

2451 Dougall Ave

Have you ever wanted to relieve stress in a fun way? Bad Axe Throwing is a great way to do that. For $23/hr, have fun with your friends or by yourself in a safe, controlled environment and aim to hit a bullseye with a lumberjack axe.

Walkerville Brewery

525 Argyle Rd.

If you’ve ever been to the Windsor area, chances are you’ve seen Walkerville Brewery products. While the beer is good, the brewery itself is a great place to go to for networking, trade shows, or just hanging out and grabbing a bite to eat.

Peche Island

Near the mainland intersection of Riverdale and Riverside

Looking for a secluded nature walk filled with history? Peche Island is only a short kayak ride away from the mainland. As the former home of the Walker family, you can still see the remains of the foundation of the house if you look closely enough.

Wizards of Walkerville

1295 Ottawa St.

If you’re in the Ottawa Street area, this is a great place to check out. There are dozens to hundreds of board games to try out for roughly $5/hr including the classics you grew up with and the ones you’ve always wanted to try. Also, the cheesecake you get here is made fresh daily and is one of the best desserts you will get in the city.

Charles Clark Square

215 Chatham St E.

Whenever you’re in downtown Windsor, be sure to check out Charles Clark Square. No matter what time of year it is, there is always something to do here. You can enjoy watching a Raptors Game or movie during the summer or go skating in the winter.

Festivals of Windsor

View event schedule to see where events are

Windsor has so many things going on that it’s nearly impossible to keep track of them all. However, my favourite festivals tend to be the ones that take place over multiple days or even weeks. This includes the Carousel of Nations that includes a dozen cultures taking place all over the city and Bright Lights, which takes place every holiday season at Jackson Park.
